Mission
Animas Aviators exists to sustain general aviation in the Animas Valley and the Four Corners. We bring local pilots together, support new pilots and student pilots, keep our home field in good shape, and give the public a reason to come out and see what flying in the San Juans is about.

Community
Monthly meetings, hangar talks, and fly-outs to neighboring fields. A standing group of people who will help you with your airplane, your checkride, or your next trip.

Safety and skills
Mountain flying clinics, density altitude briefings, and FAA WINGS credit sessions aimed at the conditions we actually fly in: high field elevation, afternoon winds, and terrain on every side.

Public outreach
Open hangar days, school and community visits, and scholarship support for local students who want to pursue aviation careers.

Dates and locations are listed here as they are confirmed. Members get email reminders the week before.

Volunteer
Most of what we do runs on a few hours of member time: setting up for a fly-in, marshaling aircraft, hosting an open hangar day, mowing, or running the grill. Tell us what you can do and we will put you on the list for the next event that needs it.
Volunteer roles that come up most often:
- Ground crew and aircraft marshaling
- Open hangar day hosts
- Event setup, food, and cleanup
- Field maintenance work days
- Outreach at schools and community events
Membership
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in aviation. You do not need to own an airplane or hold a certificate.
Members receive the monthly newsletter, event reminders, access to the members notice board, voting rights at the annual meeting, and discounted entry to clinics and fly-ins. Annual dues are set by the board each year and support field improvements, youth programs, and event costs.
Submit the form and a board member will follow up with dues information and next steps.
